Kinda like when I ask my other farmer buddy when last time he used a crows foot.. Said last time he changed an injector on a tractor.. lol. Guess for certain jobs they are the primary tool of choice. The standard open end version scares me. Brings back "painful" memories..

How is everyone doing LB7 injector lines without a crows foot? Does everyone just guess on the torque, or use the old pull-on-a-wrench-with-a-spring-scale trick? I always use a crows foot to tighten them up, works really nice.

Having the right tool can make all the difference, though. Looks like that job would've sucked without it.

I'm with you, a 6pt crows foot is most times easier than a wrench anyway.

19mm injector socket like this one:

You can use a 3/4" one, too.


I bought mine from my Mac dealer on my route. ;)

I recently came outa a eight year relationship with a 6-Leaker Powerstroke. Actually wore out the valve cover bolts.
So whenever I look at an LB7 a little voice in my head yells RUN!!

I've got a whole Stockholm thing going on with mine. I own 2 LB7s, and my brother has one too. He switched from a 6-leaker LOL

The SAC injectors seem to be the solution. That means I'll have to do one more set in my Suburban one day. They're not as bad as everyone says. But that's just what someone with Stockholm syndrome would say :rofl:

I’d trade my 06 for a crew short pewter 02 with charcoal leather all day every day.

Thermocoupler extension cables, shielded to top it off. PITA to terminate. One end done.

Got a little help onboard for this week and have made some decent headway. Hope to wrap up the electrical connections on engines this week. Spend last couple days on plumbing cooling lines.

EGT probes are connected and tested, exhaust pipes to turbo flanges are done and waiting to go on. But first we have to finish these dang throttle bodies and build some sort of trigger assembly. Then it's down to coolant reservoirs and the remaining front end hardware. Plus the huge shop I'm in doesn't have heat, so next week is gonna sux...

Well I can say there's a good reason you don't see a lot of Duramax in boats... Custom Custom Custom. And in this case,, X2.

Today's accomplishment positive air shut offs / throttle bodies mock-up. Made it back to level of an off-the-shelf throttle body so far...

Now figure out how to mount the trigger assembly...

If my buddy has a piece of steel round stock laying around.. If not probably cut couple more outa alum. Solenoid is all stainless. Biggest concern was the side loading vs torque it has.

Next step is a forward stop on the other side.

Might want to take one and smack/shake the hell out of it to simulate rough water. You don't want it shutting off air to a motor just because of a rough ride.

As long as the solenoid has a strong enough internal spring it should be good. Design seems reasonable to me.
