I tend to leave mine in hoping it will give me some sort of defense if a car hits me seeing I have a roll pan lol. My luck I'll get hit by a semi lol

I tend to pull mine out. Hate hitting my shin on it when walking around the back of the truck and it tends to rattle. Also when backing into a parking spot, I have been close enough that the hitch would have tagged the car in the other spot (not my fault they parked over the line):D

The polished stainless insert does go in with the lock and gives people behind me something to look at when they get close.

Mine stays in ever since I got rear ended in my old truck. The ball demolished the poor lady's front end and the only damage to my truck was a scratched ball and plastic bumper piece.

I leave mine in, Im smart enough to not hit my shin on it and its funny to watch other people hit theirs :roflmao: I use to think that it would protect my truck from getting hit untill two weeks ago when someone backed into the back of my truck. Now i need a new bumper, the only good thing about is it tore the other persons bumper up way worse so maybe they learned their lesson

I used to keep my load leveler hitch in all the time and kept bruising my shin with it. I sold it with the trailer. It did save me in a rearend hit by a small Honda once. Felt a bump and looked in my mirror and a see the top of the car. Light was still red so I got out to look and saw the front of the car wrapped around the hitch. Radiator busted and motor shifted on it's mounts. Only a small silver streak on the hitch. :woott:

When I had my lbz it was in all the time. Now my LML had the sensors and if I leave it in I get the message saying that my back up sensors are blocked.

When I got rear ended in my old tundra the pathfinder that hit me didn't look that bad but it was similar, when the cops got there they didn't believe she had actually ran into me, I had to show them the fresh gouge on my ball :D

People like that kill me. I love how he states he was going "8 mph". He can't pay attention to the truck in front of him but he can look at his speedometer to know he was going 8mph. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but aren't airbags deactivated at speeds below 15 or 25 mph???

For a while i left mine in. Then i heard i could get fined for it when its not in use. Didnt really want that hassle. But id rather have it in especially if id ever get rear-ended again. :D
