May I ask why you guys are using an allison instead of something that doesnt defuel? Also why not use a lighter 9" rear?

Considering building Allisons is our bread and butter using anything but an Allison wouldn't make much sense for us. It will give us a opportunity to test our new parts and ideas at the highest levels. It's never going to be a full blown race trans but we don't have an issue getting them to shift how we want and hold as long as we want when everything on the truck is happy. This truck is for us to learn from. If I wanted to squeak everything out of it there would be a TH400 and few other changes but using parts combinations customers don't have we don't learn anything beneficial.

My Allison doesn't defuel at WOT, just around town at part throttle. Shifts smoothly for DD, but puts the power down at the strip.

I didn't disable the defuel, it just stopped defueling at WOT after it was built. But I'm only at 660 HP. Do they defuel again when running a zillion HP?

if you have smooth, stock like shifts at WOT, its defueling. if you didnt, that 3-4 up shift would be rock solid and feel like you hit lock up in a cummins. been there unknowingly years ago....

The 3-4 shift is hard at WOT, and the log shows full fueling. It does defuel the 1-2 sometimes. So why did it stop defueling after the build? I didn't change the trans tune.

You had to have changed something in the ECM tuning. be careful with that harsh shift. i have twisted splines in my hub from it....

So if the 3-4 shift is the only one that is softer that probably wouldn't be in the tuning?

I think the update makes all the pics turn to "landscapes" instead of "portraits". Easy enough to turn the laptop 90*. :hehe:

Everything looks great so far, Evan!
