Stupid Intercooler!!!

48 psi did this. I heard the pop and figured it was just another boot. Couldn't figure it out when everything appeared to be fine, but no boost. Was starting to think it was the turbo untill I decided to take a look at the intercooler. Is it fairly simple to just put the stocker back in?

Its not too bad to swap intercoolers.

I've taken my PPE intercooler to 62psi sustained so far, but I'd be lying if I said I don't worry.

That sucks man i hope they cover it. i would be peived if they didnt . if your s300 did that it wouldnt stand a chance against the twins i have heard sperco has corrected this problem but i dont know for sure

yes, I was wondering how old your intercooler is... my understanding is they (Spearco) have addressed this problem.


What does PPE/Spearco say these intercoolers should be able to handle safely?

Mine is "new design". I didn't get an exact figure, but they said 75psi should be fine.

Hi just on subject of intercoolers if you had to replace one which would you buy? quality is concern not price LBZ with 50hp tow tune towing in hot humid conditions

It happened realitvely frequently on the early version Spearco/PPE intercoolers. They have since redesigned to alleviate this issue. What intercooler are you running? If Spearco/PPE, how old is it?
