FWIW I had a bad EGT Sensor on my LML off the DOC. Regen would start and would get to somewhere in the ballpark of 900-1000 degrees. Then it would shoot up to 1600 degrees and Regen would stop. Temps would start to cool off and the sensor would read normal again. Regen would start again and the temps would shoot up again. Regen time progressively got longer and longer until it finally set a code. During normal driving the sensor was accurate.

Yup, lots of diag to figure that out. Not uncommon for the 9th injector to die. Egt sensors seems to last longer but those fuckers always sieze coming out

I highly recommend weight lossing it before you start to hate the truck. Once the emissions codes start, they just never seem to stop, like dominoes falling.
