Looks great. It’s rare anymore to see a GMT900 without some form of rust around the wheel arches, rockers, etc. Sucks because they are good looking trucks. Wish GM hadn’t gone el cheapo on them.

There is a couple loose ends I still need to finish up.

- Heated steering wheel install (still need to get a clock spring)
- Bolt those rear steps in
- Get an emblem and figure out what im going to do with it.
- Elf mod the new fenders that arrived and get them painted

Small list.

Finally got my grill badge sorted out.

Managed to find an old AMI billet emblem. (dog shit quality) Had unfinished chamfers, looks like they used a spot drill to machine the groves, burrs EVERYWHERE,

I had to anneal it and re bend it to match the shape of the grill shell on the truck as well. No wonder they're out of business if this is how parts left.

Cleaned it up, sanded and filed everything to get it right and in 180grit finish before glass beading it.

On the truck. I also matched the tow hooks to match the emblem and the wheels. (prismatic powders triple bronze with satin clear)

Blast from the past!

I miss it lowered.. and surprisingly the 17’s as well.

No real updates, just musings. Need to get the wheels refinished after the alignment shop scratched the hell out of them. And some other odds and ends.

Beautiful work. I'm getting ready to dig back into my LML. Hit a deer last year, never finished that repair. Have to do head gaskets so the cab is coming back off. Once the can of worms is open, it will get pretty involved. New shop is almost in a state of completion where I can devote enough time to the truck.

Forgot a few updates that have happened in the past 6 months.

October the front diff seals started leaking. So naturally I decided, might as well… so I pulled the diff, grenaded my left thumb when it rolled off the jack and pinned it between itself and frame. Which I’ll spare you guys the pics of. I broke down the diff and resealed it and put new bearings in it. (That short side stub shaft is a real pain to remove) and a pain to lift back into the truck.

The offender that ruined my thumb for multiple months and my life choices...

Decided to also clean up the front suspension whilst in there., New lower ball joints, poly bushings, CV's and swaybar end links, hubs (which ended up being wrong so i had to last minute on a holiday get a set of Timken hubs flown in) Blasted and powder coated everything while it was apart. Forgot to do the sway bar itself. so that will come off once the snow melts.

I wire wheeled and touched up the front frame as well.

Got an alignment done to which they absolutely ruined every single wheel (which they agreed to refinishing for me)

Did a nut and bolt the following week, oil change, drain and fill on the trans - and then immediately the week following headed out on a 3800KM work trip and decided to take my truck.

Somewhere in North Dakota.

Picked up another new pocket knife (carbon Sebenza) from a friend which I had shipped to one of our US shops waiting for me.

Is that the evidence of your injury on the carboard next to the front diff in the first picture...

I like that carbon fiber handled knife!
