I own a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, with 6.6 Duramax. My review mirror seems to be on the fritz. "Automatic Dimming Rearview Mirror with OnStar, Compasss and Temperature Display. Problem - Compass and Temperature Display appears to be no longer working. Question - Is there an easy home fix for this? Pricing mirrors on internet and they seem to run around $200.00 dollars. Suggestions please.

I put black tape over the sensor on mine. Couldn't stand the dark green tint when it dimmed. Couldn't see anything when it did. The tape kept it normal at all times.

have you checked all the fuses and connector behind the mirror?

You can probably get one cheaper at a pick and pull or dismantler. Maybe even eBay

You've checked your fuses, both underhood and dashboard?

Also, no need for multiple threads concerning the same topic. Just come back to this one and reply.

Is the problem it dims randomly, or the display will turn off or start flickering?

The flickering/rebooting display is very common, and I usually just get a lower mile mirror on eBay. They are all made by Gentex, and if you search for the Gentex part number (should be on the front/windshield side of yours) they're usually way less than $200. But of course, no guarantee how long the replacement will last.

From all I read, it could be one of three in the underhood box. #4, 9 or 14

You also checked that you didnt accidentally turn the mirror off? Try the button on the far left?

Depending on what document I look at, I see for the inside rear view mirror #26 or #35 in the under hood fuse box
