So these are all the recommended TES 295 oils listed on Allison's website. I see Transynd is on the list which I have a pail of. Is this ok to run in a built 6 speed? I thought this wasn't highly recommended.......

I'll say this, BP autotran shifts much better in my 6sp than the dex6 did... My 6sp is stock too. Not sure if you'd noticed the better shifting in a built unit or not?

I did, however, put dex 3 in my new SunCoast unit. It shifts pretty good, but of course it's apples to oranges.

I too have liked BP Autrans, and it's quite a bit cheaper than Torque Drive even at Dealer pricing. I haven't done a back to back comparison with BP and Citgo with the same build though, so I will in the coming months and report back.

Pretty sure BP is Castrol TranSynd. My source at Allison told me Castrol and Mobil are the only 2 fluids that manufacture official fluid. The rest of the approved fluids are re-badge.

cheapest I found it was $55 a gallon...and I thought the transynd was high at $42. O well that is money ill gladly spend to prolong the life of the built trans

I used Torque Drive with success for years before switching to Schaeffer's mostly for availability and company structure reasons (not a pyramid selling structure like Amsoil) and would use it in mine if I had it laying around.

I've had good luck with the Torque Drive on my stock trans. 05 with 145k miles. Limps on the big tune but shifts great otherwise.

I just didn't realize that transynd was good for a built trans. But I'm glad ad I have 2 gallons still. So I only need a few more and new filters

Not sure if the Shell Spirax S6 ATF A295 is rebadged from another product as mike mentioned but it is one the few on the allisons site to meet the tes 295 spec according to the shell web site they worked exclusively with allison on this one including extra long duration testing etc. Our oil wholesaler for our shop is a shell distributor and my price point on this is better than i can get transynd for so i think i am going to go with this one on my current build and start changing my custs. Allisons over from dex6. especially the 5spds

Possible. Which one makes shaeffers? I'm not sure if your POC was referring to all trans fluids but i know many of the dex 3 fluids are manufactured by Kendall. And conoco phillips manufacturs all of its own fluids, lubes, and greases

There's a fleet supply store near me that sells wolfs head trans fluid, their website states TES 295. Anybody on here use it before?
