Truck is an LBZ with 235,000 miles on it. Put new delco in it at 194k, but 9 years ago. I don’t drive the truck much anymore. I have 40 over tips on them. P

About 4 months ago I popped a glow plug code. #6. Pulled it and changed it. That particular glow plug was covered in black oily fuel mix. I searched online a bit a ppl saying that’s common esp with a plug not working.

Fast forward to last week. I actually had been driving the truck a few days a week with no issue for about 2-3 weeks. One day out of the blue I jump in it. When I start it it makes a few random pops out the exhaust. Like 2-3 at startup. Then nothing else. Drove it started and stopped no issues

Few days later I go to move it and I hear the same random pops out the exhaust at start. Never anymore.

For the hell of it today I pulled 6 and 8 glow plugs. 6 is again soaked. 8 is perfectly clean. Could I have a leaking injector? Checked balance rates and they are within spec but #6 is like +3.

I tried sticking my borescope in the cylinder but it’s too big won’t go thru the glow plug hole

Should I be worried? Should I think about moving that injector to another cylinder?

Ironically after I was done today I started the truck and it sounded perfect. No pop nothing

could be leaking valve guide.

if the balance rate is in spec and it isn't smoking then I wouldn't worry about it.

swapping injectors could tell you if it is the injector or something else
