Looking to do quite a bit of sled pulling this summer. Im undecided of running the comp sled puller from percision or to just get the ML and have it stalled to about 2600. A big single is the plan. Im at the point where im buying one so i need some opinions! I do plan to run it on the street somewhat for the beggining part of summer till i get a trailer and everything line up.

from what i have seen over the years pulling with buddys the high stall converters dont work very well, the usually come apart then you have metal through out your trans and cooler

Yeah true i forgot about the ML option of changing the stall. Im gonna guess im going to go that route. Just wanted some opinion on the Comp sled puller.

What does an ML stall at (vs. stock converter on the same truck/same power)? I was always under the impression it's about the same as stock?

Yeah i imagine its the same stall if you dont have them change it. Im talking about having one that the stall speed has been changed on. :thumb:

If the charger gets changed you will probably need to change the converter to match. Some will also depend on the tuning and what gear you start the truck in.

Get the HSP (High stall puller). The ML can only be stalled to about 2300 and will not hold up under brake stalling more than a few seconds. The restall does not cover the upgraded stator the HSP has and will cost extra.

Okay thanks that's the info I needed to hear. Now I take it the same warranty is on the hsp correct? And any other changes you think should be added with this converted. I got the billet flexplate and extra cooler? Thanks for the answers guys!:thumb:

My first Mike L converter wouldn't hold shit and would shutter on the street at anything over 80 mph. I'm a stock turbo regular cab and my stock converter didn't do this. I wanted a bullet proof stocker exact replica. I got a POS and a bunch of shavings in my trans. I could brake stall the first converter to 5000 within a second if I wanted I pulled it 2 times. My 2nd converter has the dodge stator, whatever that means. The converter is jumpy over all and I'm not impressed, my fuel mileage went to shit and it tows like it's half the truck it was, if it doesnt rev it wouldn't go anyplace. Personally I wish I could get my good low mileage stocker core back as I think I would shelf this unit until later. I daily drive my truck and truck pull in the summer so take that into consideration. My stock converter would always let me spin out at the end of the track when it unlocked and this one will stall the truck. Whats the point of a torque converter? :(

The precision with the dodge stator is the high stall sled puller. It stalls to 2750rpm. Why would you buy a converter like that for a stock turbo truck? Of course its gonna drive terrible. I have that exact converter in my truck and have no issues.

It's what I was sold by Mike L. What's your recommendation? My stock stall was 2300-2600 and I loved it. If I'm loading 2 540 bushel J&M wagons, I'm pretty sure I could toast this converter at will if I wanted. This converter doesn't convert rpm to torque/movement at all. It's all or nothing and then creates a shudder. Grab and release. I really don't like it this high dollar piece that was the greatest converter ever.....
