New to duramax not to chevy. just picked up my first duramax. 07 2500 hd classic lbz. 212k 4" exhaust, s&b intake, banks six gun. spretty happy with it so far besides my ac is building too much pressure and shutting itself off at idle. gonna have to fix that.

Figured out my ac. Radiator was plugged up with dirt and mud. Previous owner liked to play apperently. Truck got new t-stats, fan clutch, and about 45 minutes washing the radiator with a hotsy. Works amazing now.

Haha yeah, that will do it! Though the new fan clutch probably helped a lot. I noticed a big difference in my A/C performance at idle with the Hayden clutch vs. the worn out OEM clutch.

Hay everyone. New myself to some of these forums as far as asking questions goes.
I have been reading a lot and this summer has been really hot and humid in eastern NC this year.
I have seen several comments about replacing the stock thermo fan coupler with a Haden one.
My temps are higher than I like even not towing and I am willing to give up some quite and few horse power for the truck to stay cool. I have an 2009 GMC 2500 HD CCSB 4X4.
Does any one have a Haden part number for a fan clutch that locks up more ofen, I am guessing at a lower temp, and causes more air to be drain through the cooling stack?
Like everyone else my trans temps are higher as well.
What about trade offs for winter warm up?
A Haden part number folks have used on an 7.5-10 LMM would be great for me to look into.

That is a whole discussion on the various Hayden fan clutch options for our trucks.

You can also find the answer very quickly on Google. I'm really starting to come over to TheBac's point of view here. Why are all the new users coming on and hijacking a thread to ask a question easily answered with the search tool? :(

Sorry. I searched all three forums before asking and did not find an answer to my question as everything I found was only generic discussion and referenced Haden only as an OK improvement with no specifics as to what part to use or what specific improvements one might expect over stock. . Also I am sorry and did not realize I was hijacking a thread as I thought my question was on subject. Guess my search strings are my as good as ll the seasoned users. Not finding the forums very friendly either. I am very sorry you feel that way, i am just and d man looking for some good advice as money is very limited.

Topics wander around here on DD more than most places, so I think you can be forgiven for that one :D

The thread I linked should have had all the answers you need. As I recall both the Hayden 2886 and 2850 fit, but one is closer to the radiator than stock. According to Hayden's application guide, the 2850 is the OE replacement you want.

As for not being friendly, I gave you the answer you were looking for, then chided you a bit for not (effectively) using search. If I was really pissed, I wouldn't have given you the answer, or someone would have [POST=1013831]told you to GTFO[/POST]. :spit: I mean, do you expect us to do all your work for you? Though I guess I just did lol

This forum is race-oriented and we expect people to pull their weight, and are a bit more curt than other places. But if you are willing to put in the time, learn good search terms, and ask the right questions, there is an absurd amount of tech knowledge here.

Nice looking truck op. When you say the a/c was shutting down, do you mean the compressor was shutting off, or it would just start blowing warmer air? My lly would blow warm air when you stopped moving until I cleaned the cooling stack, HUGE difference. Now I clean it every spring whether it looks dirty or not.
