Does anyone know why the Blind spot Monitoring system "may not operate" with a aftermarket rear bumper?
Looking at this one. Hopefully its ok to post a link :/
I'm guessing liability reasons. Modification to a vehicle safety device. If it somehow fails to work and you get an a wreck, you can't blame them

I haven't messed with the new trucks, But it may be possible that the system may need to be recalibrated after the bumper is replaced. Usually some of those systems have a specific way to be calibrated after an accident to ensure they are functioning properly. If they move the positioning from factory it could affect the way it works. With out have the raw data of where they are located, I am sure they are off some.

Boy i was way ahead of my time when i made a external oil cooler adapter that also incorporated changing the 2020+ oil filters on the 2020+ oil cooler to 01-19 for the limo back in 2019 lol

As for the bumper, has to do with the ADAS system. It will need to be recalibrated and even then, if it doesnt hit within its range due to sensor location, may be SOL

Bingo! The ADAS is incredibly finicky as I'm learning while developing/testing NGDV.
