Any ca guys know what's up with the new smog check? Apparently the ecm will be checked against gm programming.

They check your calibration against a known GM Stock OEM calibrations. The OS and check sums must match for your vehicle.
According to this article, July 19th of 2021 it went into effect.

I know some one with a DSP5 that passed.
My understanding is that they don't have a full list of calibrations on some vehicles prior to around 2005 or 2006. When you look up some earlier vehicles on the TIS site, The CVN is X'd out because even GM does not have the info.
GM has since purged there files of this info since they are only required to keep the Info for 10 years.
