How come some people have a higher trap speed than others and run a slower quarter mile time? Is it a horsepower thing? I ran a 12.9 @ 102 and the mph seems low to me. Is more horsepower the only thing that will bring the mph up? Thanks

Trap speeds are mostly HP/Weight ratio more than anything else.

103 is common for a high 12.

Some tracks trap higher than others with the same ET. I think it's the way their lights are set.

A head wind won't affect ET as much as it will traps. Tailwind ditto.

Tailgate up will normally pick up 0.5mph at the same ET as tailgate removed.

dif size tires affected mine, with the stock tires i ran 13.336 @ 105 then i ran my 33" ATs after i installed a lift pump and ran 13.34@102 and the last time i went to the track i ran 13.038 @ 102 also on the 33"s, i could trap 105 all day with the stockers but the bigger tires i never got over 103
