So ive been having a hard time finding an engine, and after a chat with a local machine shop and bdsankey, I guess I should be asking for a "core" engine. Im going to tear it down and have the machine shop go over it, so there is no sense in paying 3k for a high mileage fully dressed long block when im going to do that.
Truck went untill 16 vans untill 18 I believe. Medium duty also still used LML for a bit as well.
After a block goes through a bead blaster you won't know if it came from MN or FL. The only things I've ever really fought on these northern trucks is glow plugs and up-pipe bolts, beyond that everything comes loose with a little heat and the occasional turbo socket for rounded nuts.
