Lml Duramax 230 ect towing

I was towing 15k toy hualer up some grades last time ect got up to 232 the fan was coming on and off but temp kept climbing till about 232 at the top of the grade. stock truck 2011i done these grades before and temp stayed at the 210 mark. No codes coolant everything else looks fine. has anyone experienced this with an LmL I know it’s common in Lmm. Would the truck through a code if the fan clutch was going out? Thanks for any info.

Pull cooling stack and clean it.

Ya stacks are clean. It was a hot day about 110 out when I saw the temp climb so high could the reason?

232 is just fine a long as your fan eventually locks up and cools down the engine.

I spent about 6 hours running 225-230 on my lb7 when my fan clutch quit on me. The stock t-stats don't even go full open until 230 as per GM.

Ya sounds like a lot of people experience these temps. I’m just gonna keep running it, next time I tow I’ll leave it in 4th See if that helps keep temps a little lower.
