They make OK trailers, but there are certain things on them that just seem cheap. There are plenty of trailer manufacturers in Texas that make nice trailers.

I have a 22.5k Bad boy(manufactured by Elite) 27'plus 5', I will get some pics up here shortly, just right for what we are doing.
by the way with my truck, and the other truck we have hauled with it, it rides much better loaded forward. We just usually loaded it backwards, so we dont have to mess with the weights, but if winter projects get done, it will have a box on front hopefully.
looks good Riley. That's a great trailer but they sure get heavy and expensive in a hurry.
In my situation, It's hard not to just make a 14,000lb 22+5 work for half the price especially if the only use for the trailer is to transport a puller around.
It's like everything else in this sport, a guy can get by for cheap or they can spend the money and have the best.

I agree, the trailer gets used for more than hauling the puller, and 14k would have been sufficient, but one never knows what is need to be hauled. The price on this trailer wasnt to bad I dont think, I had $7450 in it, and drove to Springfiel Mo to pick it up
I've got a 20+5 14k Gooseneck LoadMax trailer to haul my puller. Thats basically all I use it for. I went with the 14k trailer becuase of the lower initial cost, less tires to maintain and less trailer weight to pull around all the time. I have a RCLB puller and it fits on the trailer just fine. I pull it back some to take some of the pin weight off the tow truck ('05 CCSB). Just remember that the 14k lb rating of the axle/tires is with the tires at max psi (80psi usually). And I believe that weight rating is at 65MPH. So if you are one of the guys that has to drive 75+ MPH on a hot July/August day, the amount of weight that the tires will support is decreased as the speed goes up. Heat is what kills a tire, so if you are flexing it more (faster speed) and the ambient temp is higher, the weight rating is lower.

Oh and last year I put a MaxBrake (hydraulic over electric - ties into the hydraulic brake lines) brake controller on my truck. I will never go back to the other styles of elctric brake controllers. The MaxBrake is well worth the price. The truck/trailer combo braking action is perfect. The wife drives home from a lot of the pulls (too much celebrating
) and she loves it because the brakes act just like the trailer isn't there. No adjustments, no locking/unlocking when hitting bumps, etc...

The thing that I don't like about a 14k lb trailer is it can really only legally haul an 8000lb truck without any other tools or equipment on the trailer.
Ours is rated at 16k, but I would suggest going atleast 10 ton, tandem with oil bath breaks. Atleast that's what I'm buying next (10 or 12 ton)....:thumb:
alota you guys gotta remember you're legally supposed to have a class A cdl to have anything over 26,000 combined GVW with a medical card chocks,triangles or flares fire extinguisher actually need the medical card for anything over 10,000...
It's only illegal if somebody sees it. My brother has a class A and he usually rolls with me. He can man the wheel after the cops are done raping me.
around here the stateys have been pulling guys with pickups n trailers over left n right they know they either dont have a cdl or the right safety crap....
I'm sure I'm right at over a little over 26K loaded down but the truck loves it.
Were also supposed to have dpfs, cats, and all the emissions stuff on our trucks.

So a Dual tandem gooseneck, with a truck, a few tools, etc will put us over the class D driver's license limit?
I have my CDL so its not A issue for me
I have never had a issue with the pick-up / gooseneck combo but I can't say the same for our bigger trucks with D.O.T. numbers on the side
yes but 99% of the time we wont get bothered but theres always that one deputy dog..and i always seem to run into them!
