Point form of how this mess go so bad:

Saudi (US Ally) wanted to run pipe line to sell natural gas to europe through Syria

Russia currently supplies most natural gas to western europe.

Syria declined due to their alliance to Russia who supplies them with weapons & equipment.

USA funded FSA - free syrian army (rebels) to oust Al Assad from Syria. FSA is funded & trained by CIA, but falls apart as many defect & form ISIS.

ISIS starts slaughtering, no one cares, until it looks like they might actually overthrow Al Assad so Russia steps in.

Russia does more damage to ISIS in 6 weeks than the US does in 6 months because the US doesn't really want eliminate them. They want Al Assad out of power so they & the Saudis can sell natural gas to western europe.

Basically, this is all about money & power via Natural Gas. Millions of people slaughtered or displaced because of greed. Nothing more.

Russia was bombing FSA not ISIS.... They are now also bombing ISIS

You know, I'm sure this board is mostly a conservative board, so I understand he's not popular here, but what amazes me is, I have literally met 2 people that like him and voted for him!! In my line of work I deal with people all over the country. How did the guy get elected twice??!!

I know about that same # of ppl that voted for him but I sure see plenty of his stupid bumper stickers & now starting to see Hillary and Bernie stickers too. And my state usually goes Red. It's really the huge urban areas that gets these ****s elected. Short of maybe a cpl huge cities (I'm talk NYC, Chicago, Houston, LA, Dallas, Etc) it seems almost all lean liberal/democrat. Look at the polling maps, every blue area is typically a big urban area.

I still don't understand their rationale or way of thinking about politics.

Some (not all) reasons IMO:

1) People with their hands out
2) minority vote
3) kids who "wanted to be part of something" and voted straight-ticket Dem as a result
4) Older folks who thought the Reps would "take their social security"
5) large number of Rep voters either stayed home or voted Libertarian due to disgust with Rep candidate

The takers outnumber the makers in this country now.

Blue states will always be blue states, liberals like to vote for fellow liberals and their laws.

I think a large part of Obama getting elected was the public was tired of US kids getting killed over in the middle east, and tired of GWB. The pendulum seems to have swung back, people are tired of BHO and his lack of "good" leadership amonst supposed "desperate times".

We shall see, but as a NJ person, nothing is changing for me, its always gonna be heavily restricted gun laws
