Drug home another orphan. Need to up my snowplow game. (and yes, if this is an upgrade, I know, I know) This thing has a Western Ultra mount. Basically, gave him for the truck, what the plow is worth. It's a crank no start. W/T with 86k showing on the odometer. He was asking $2100, I offered 1,600. (hoping he'd say no). Unfortunately, he bit on the offer. May just pull the plow and part it out, who knows. I'll get it running first, then do a better evaluation of its future. He says it has spark and fuel pressure, used to run then one day it didn't. We'll see what I find.

Figured I share my insanity with the group.

I think I saw that truck on FB Marketplace.

James, looks like she needs rockers and corners, same as most Michigan trucks.
03, theres a shop in the Carson City area that specializes in replacing those parts, if you want to look into it.

What Tom said. If I choose to keep it, I can do those repairs. Definitely in my wheelhouse. PO actually had already bought everything for the drivers side. Floor pan / inner and outer rockers / and a cab corner.

I can source doors / bed and tailgate in correct colors for under two grand. Rust free. Fenders I found would need paint, but they can be done when I paint the rockers.

That flatbed has to go. SRW never looks right with a flatbed IMO.

Yes Tom, FB MP got me again.

Once I hear it run, I'll decide if I bought just a plow or a plow truck.

I am 75% sure the 86,000 miles showing are actual. But I guess someone could have swapped the cluster. Nothing in the ECM on this old of a truck.

Got it loaded up and hauled home.

No small feat, with the plow still mounted.

Had to load it backwards.

Probably a sign of things to come.

Everything backasswards.

My AZ ass would be running scared from things like that.
The sad thing is, Guys like us don't need Sheetmetal here and we can not sell it for anything more than scrap. I have literly thrown perfectly clean doors in the trash because its not worth my time to take to the scrap yard. I had a hard time Giving an 06 Crew cab with doors away. I almost had to pay to scrap it.

Welcome to the great white north. 😂
Sad but true. Keep two trucks around so one can sit, and the other get trashed by road salt.
6.0/4L80?
6.0 yes, so I am assuming 4l80e. It's too old for GM to be very descriptive on the build sheet.1770634921583.png

Shit, it's a 4.10 axle! That's gonna suck on my 60 mile commute each day.

Snowplow prep package. Been a Michigan truck it's whole life, sold out of Golling in Lake Orion.

Last dealer visit was in 05 it had 36,600 miles on it then. It's showing 86,000 now. So, driven only 2,500 miles per year in the last 20 years? Not sure I buy it. But the brake lines are original, as is the exhaust. So, who knows?

Makes sense if bought to be used primarily as a plow truck/spare truck.

Yep, 4l80E option MT1. 4:10 rear was common gear for HD gas. Not like you cant find another 3:73 if you had to.

Interesting that it was an SLT truck, though. You usually dont see that on Regular cab trucks.

Never thought about swapping in some Dmax axles, good point.

I didn't get it on the lift yet, but the frame appears to all be there? Cross tube on the trailer hitch has a rust hole, but it survived the winch pull, dragging it up on the trailer. And seeing as how the plow cage bottomed out on the pavement, it was a pretty good pull.
