That's what was left of the gt5541r. Turbine broke clean off, compressor exploded but the shaft still spun perfectly though :roflmao:

Was it just the turbo(s) that were damaged? If so, that's about as well as that could have gone. Still, hate seeing carnage like that, always makes me worry about my truck pulling the same trick.

Gt55 total loss, s591 secondary lost the compressor wheel, charge pipes shredded, hood had some dings, alternator broken, some wires ripped out. Other than that, they drove it on the trailer.

Definitely not an eBay gt55. Gt55 is rated around 1800hp. That run made 2160 hp on an uncorrected dyno.

I was just curious Mike
I'm not questioning the ABUSE the turbo was enduring or had endured to that point, at all:D
Everything has a limit...I'd say 2160whp (corrected or not) is pretty much tapping the "limits" for anything...and everything, that is made in the performance market

There was a guy on the TBSS forum a year ago that bought a GTX4202 off ebay and he built a front mount system for his TBSS with it. It did pretty much the same thing, on a dyno too, but @ 700 whp on a Gasser and after only 2500mi
