Hello folks,

Decided to rebuild my Allison 1000 with a Stage 5 PPE kit myself as I can't seem to find many good experts in the area. I am currently in the middle of the build and came across something. On the top of the transmission case (not the bell housing) there is a cap like device. Wondering what the purpose of this device is? Is it a vent of sorts?

I asked because it appears to be crimped on but is a little loose and wobbly. Not sure if its something I need to be concerned with or if this part is designed to behave in this manner? Don't really see a way of replacing anyways.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Like stated above, if the item in question is circled that is a vent. It will be a little wobbly as it's crimped on to stop debris from falling into the vent.

Perfect! Thanks!

That is the part and what I was concerned with. Just wanted to be sure it wasn't some kind of relief and got damaged.
