Now go back to page one and compare. Pretty interesting where you took this little SUV.

So to make it to Barstow and still be able to use 4wd, I had to rig up a TJ shift cable outside the rig by the driver front tire. Worked for loading and unloading but was sketchy as fuck on the side of a hill I couldn’t make while prerunning. Initially I thought I could rig that up to the stock shifter… nope. Too short of a cable.

So I bought a jdfab cable setup for a j231. Still had to mod it to work on the tcase but wasn’t bad. Then made the jdfab shifter work on the stock shifter retainer ring. Put the dust shield under it, trimmed the console where the stock one went and good to go.

Shits all over the place as I was test fitting still but all the way forward is 2wd. So it’s 2hi - 4hi - N - 4low - 2low.

Havent dont a ton of stuff to the old girl. KOH 2025, had a squeak that was driving me nuts somewhere in the dash. Started tearing the dash out to see if the sheet metal was cracked and when i dropped the column, i heard the noise. Turns out the steering shaft bearing at the end of the column was shot and the shaft was creaking as it went in and out due to frame flex. Made a new one out of delrin, no more squeak

Did a trip to Laughlin and back in May 2025. First day went great, second day, fan blade caught the edge of my fan shroud (it was breaking and i didnt know it) and ripped a fan blade off. Cut the opposite two blades in half (odd count of blades) and kept goin. Then lost the trans vent line and it was puking oil, fixed that. Muffler fell off, tossed that in the back (didnt realize it was cracked) and a bunch of other crap that just wasnt happy that the gayzer bumps shook loose. Its all been fixed since

Last up was a flat tow setup. Added a hitch to the trailer and to the tracker. I disconnect the driveshaft each time as putting the tcase in neutral doesnt really like to stay there. Tows like it aint even there. I do want to do some sort of camera to see back there though from the truck
