Well, hello all.

As the title states, this is my first Diesel. I waited way too long to come to the dark side, I was too busy messing around with combustion engines.

I've got a 2007 Sierra 2500HD Classic, CCSB getting a Fully Built motor mated up to a DDP Stage-2 Trans, S&S 100% Overs, 10mm CP3, the whole kit and kaboodle.

I've been lurking here for awhile, just soaking up information and learning. I decided it was finally time to make an account and join the process.

You can look me up on YouTube under "Hostile Garage" if you like.

Just a disclaimer, I don't know what I'm doing. lol

Backstory: Purchased this truck in May of 2024 with 172k. I had gotten some parts together to install in Spring of 2025, at the time I was doing a 'preventative' headgasket job. Basically, headgaskets up, I wanted to overhaul. If you know me, you'd know if I plan on having a rig for a long time and am unsure of its mechanical maintenence history; I'll get some of the big shit knocked out for reliability sake before anything becomes a problem. I also had an HSP Piping kit and 66mm VGT Turbo to toss on.

I'm glad I did.

Once we started digging into it, we found all sorts of shit. Injectors ended up being seized, so I went with 100% and a 10mm CP3. Which means I had to get a built block... which means I needed a built Trans. So, that's the route I went. In transferring Oil pump over from old motor to new motor (which is literally nearly the only thing that got transferred) we saw that both the Crank and Cam Gear dowels were both on the edge of letting go.

With the way the build went, I've recently decided to yeet the HSP Kit from the plan, and go with a big single S400 kit from DP Customs. Since I already have the HSP kit, I'll use whatever parts I need that the DP Customs kit doesn't include and sell the rest.

So, now its time to nail down a turbo and tuner. Engine and Trans are currently in the process of going back in the frame (Cab and Bed are off). Currently leaning towards an S467.7, with the 87mm turbine, just trying to decide on a .90 or 1.0 exhaust housing. Truck will be a daily driver, cross-country trekker, trailer puller, workhorse, with the occasional trip down the dragstrip or a sledpull at local events. I want to keep the towing manners reasonable while being able to have as much fun as possible when I'm not towing. 🤟 I figure I've got a motor and Trans that should reliably make 1000hp. I figure I've got fuel for about 800, which is why I was leaning with the 67 instead of the 72 (and for towing reasons). Any input is appreciated if you have experience with either.

Attached is a photo from a few weeks ago, prior to the motor going in.

Welcome to DD.

You are welcome to start a thread in the Builds section detailing your continuing mishaps and triumphs. We've all been there. :ROFLMAO:
