Does Ben make one or has anyone overridden the stock fan control so you are able to kick it on full tilt ahead of time? In my experience, the stupid things are always too late. You could keep coolant temps nice and low while towing if you could kick it on ahead of time when coming to a long drag.

The factory fan is a viscous style iirc so it kicks on and off by fluid temp and not by electronics. Electric fans won't flow enough cfm to tow heavy loads with.

Put on a new HAYDEN fan clutch as it is about the lowest temp fan clutch out there. Or you could try a 2000 6.5 fan clutch as it is set-up for no intercooler. If it is for an LB7 or LLY you could also buy one of KENNEDYs low temp fan clutches for a 2000 6.5. Or if you want to go cheap buy a new fan clutch, pull the bi-metal strip loose and cut about a 1/4" off and rebend it, then put it back in and silicone it in place.
