drag racing tires

OK so i have my stock aluminum wheels laying around and i want to put a set of drag tires on them. i won't be driving with them every day just on race day. what would you all recommend, BTW I'm still to scared to use a 2nd gear launch, so good tires are really my only option to get a good launch with no wheel spin.

thats what i was thinking. i just don't know anything about them. anybody feel like giving me a quick run down on what would be a good drag radial?

M&H slick are the commonly used ones and they are 16" as well

your thread is what gave me the idea :angel: . i didn't want to jack your thread cause I'm looking for a tire just to drive to the track and back. yours seemed like you wanted a daily driver/racing tire. i could have read it wrong though, I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer
