hope this is in the right place if it isnt would somebody move it for me thanks,
but the question is my lb7 pistons are gettin gut and de lipped dows anybody know a good about as far as de lipping i want to get the compression rate around 16:1 any advice helps

im sry haha i want to know the best amount to take off the lip of the piston im tryin to have my compression around 16 to 1 hope this rewrite was better

I think if you take off just the lip and dont remove (or make bigger) any extra material you will be close to 16.5 : 1

to de-lip remove the lip in the bowl and take about .010 off the head and use 'c' gaskets i think that will put you about 16:1

call guy to make sure...

What if you took the lip off, and removed that buldge in the bowl? Is that possible of effective?

On mine I just did a 1/8 radius, but I set my compression with the headgasket thickness an the piston extrusion, I found a compression calculator on line, that's how I did mine. If I can help with any ??? I'll tell u what I know. that won't take long. LOL check this site out.

Yes, Guy is a good person to call I spoke to him alot when I built my engine, an I bought my rods an ect from him... Very straight up person....:thumb:

Guess I could ask in here, Do you have to be picky about the pistons you use if you coat them ? Like mileage and if they were run hard beforehand ?
