Def heater?

I've got the p21dd code, I'm over the milage to get fixed under warranty. My question is can the heater be replaced without replacing the tank also.

So over the extended warranty of 10y/120miles?

I think the item is Dorman part# 904-374 but have now experience replacing them

IIRC, it installs the same as if you were replacing the pickup in the fuel tank.

Yes, tank stays, heater and pump are replaced as a single unit. Dealer wants $700 for this...or u can get the parts for about $200 and search YouTube.

Pretty easy fix, I've done a couple. Drop the def tank, remove the assembly and swap it out.

The code will not clear unless the heater is commanded on with a scan tool.

Some guys miss that step.
