Late Merry Christmas to everyone.

We had a interesting surprise on Christmas Eve. We got a visit from the police. My wife had talked about the chances of it happening. After years of going out in public and lots of trips to all kinds of places with him being much worse without issues it was kind of a surprise.

We went to the park so my wife and daughter could go for a run. My son is 12 and having a difficult time and is low functioning Autistic. We are struggling with his self injury a lot. He wants us to hold him 24/7 so he doesn't hurt himself. Not sure what triggered the call since he wasn't even bad. He was just requesting I hold his arms and legs down so he couldn't hit himself. The cops arrived and I explained the situation calmly. My wife even arrived with my daughter further explaining the situation and started crying. With the conditions of my son she is struggling a lot and emotionally stressed. Then it escalated. I was threatened with arrest I didn't provide them with an ID. I dont like be treated as a criminal. I asked them what that would prove? They couldn't awnser that question and continued to threaten me. So I got walked all way to my vehicle by 3 officer, so I could get them my ID. If I wouldn't of had my ID then what? Just because I had an ID didn't mean I didn't kidnap him? He doesn't have and ID and he is non verbal so what did any of this prove? It's just frustrating that someone can have all the awnsers and still be treated as a criminal. All because we try and be the best parents we can be taking my son to places where he might enjoy himself. Instead of keeping him home.

Ah yes bearded jacked thugs doing what they do. Unable to deescalate any situation nor able to control themselves. Fuck em.

Not all cops are like this but damn does it seem like more and more are headed in that direction.

The fact that the "Good ones" rarely check the bad ones speaks volumes

Sounds like some 1a auditors need to pay some visits

Total bullshit and unprofessional move on the cops part.. unfortunately there's very little we can do about that doesn't cost the citizen more??‍♂️

I wouldn’t want to check a roided out bully either lol

Don’t get me started on 1A auditors. I don’t agree with how they conduct themselves most of the time either.

I just don't know how we went from having a conversation to being threatened with arrest.... because I don't provide an ID? I should have filed a complaint.

There are definitely a lot of wannabe that never actually learned the laws/court cases for their area.. and all they do is cause problems mainly because they're disrespectful and don't understand the "why" to things.

Regardless, doesn't change the fact, if you don't know your rights, you don't have any.

If really depends how far one wants to push it. the cops were 100% "fishing " and accosting Jon on his property. I'd personally file a complaint especially if I have video/audio of my own and FOIA all body cam photage.. which "should" be on while on duty

I would be contacting a lawyer and going to the sheriff immediately to file a harassment complaint against those officers. Most cops are good people, but some are there for the power of the position and if found, need to be let go.

Unfortunately good people doesn't necessarily make good cops.
Also a lot of the problems have to do with the training or lack of proper training.
