I'm no pro but I wouldn't cut any on the deck of the piston. You want the piston to head TIGHT! As others have said check it with your block and rods as it is different with each setup. I would never give up ANY compression again. Jeff

All things being equal with a LB7 piston at 17.5:1, a delip and .125 radius will generally put you at 16.8:1. We generally take an additional .010 off to make a little extra room for an aftermarket cam.
