Hey guys so I bought a curt hitch for my 06 2500hd. I am going to install it today. And I am wondering what everyone has done with the factory electrical connection? The stock one is part of the hitch. Any ideas how to move it? It is a push and twist style lock so drilling a new hole would be difficult?

Just cut that one and put it on the new one. Or buy a new plug with a bracket.

I have looked everywhere for that bracket and can't find it. Cutting off a factory one and welding it is the only way I know of.

I took a hole saw and cut a hole in the bumper just left of the licence plate and put in a nice metal one with a spring loaded flap. Its out of the way and not getting banged up. Fred

I made a bracket when I built my hitch and added the 6 round plug for when working on other people's trailers I don't have to mess with an adapter.

Unplug the factory plug from harness

The one I chose has a 4 wire plug built in.

Would it be possible to snap a few photos on the exhaust mounting side. I have a 5 inch MBRP and want to ensure it will clear before ordering. Thanks in advance

I just installed mine today. I added extra back up lights and grounding straps. Install was very easy and fit perfectly. I just cut the old bracket off and rewelded it to the bumper. Good enough for now.

I like my Curt hitch it seams much stronger than any bumper hitch , look how far back it mounts to the frame , I guess thats why its rated so high . But I do know my OEM was junk !

I broke the OEM twist lock version long time ago..
Hopkins also make 4 bolts version that's plug in play to the OEM connector.. used it for a while till I started having issues with the OEM side of the connector then cut everything off..

I've put some serious tongue weight on this super hitch, upwards of 3500lbs, not to mention sled pulling with it.. LMM has yet to be hooked to a sled... Maybe next year
