Bridgeport mill purchase.

While surfing good old FB MP, a listing appeared "MIII $500". The thumbnail pic was a Bridgeport mill head.

I sent a message. To my surprise, he replied. I went after work and looked at it and gave him the cash.

I was toying with the idea of adding one to my shop for a while but had kind of decided against it due to space and not sure how much use it will get. But for $500, it's a no brainer.

Comes with an indexable vise / collet set / job set up kit / lots of misc HSS tooling end mills etc. Power knee and table. No DRO, but it's already been converted to single phase 220v. It also has the TIBON hard chromed ways.

Pretty excited to get it home.

congrats,thats a great deal.you'll find things to use it for now.I got a medium sized lathe,and sure enough,I've used it a bunch of times.I'd loved to find a deal on a mill like yours.

You never need one till you have one… then you never knew how much you needed it!

I have a Lagun mill and a 17” andry chow lathe. Use the heck out of them knowing i have them. Your mind starts ti change gears on what you can build

It's home. Wired up. Running.

Whoever did the three-phase conversion, did it right. No convertor, just swapped on a new single phase 1.5hp 220v motor.

I still need to tram the head back in, we flipped it for transport. Keep the COG as low as possible.

He also had an old power hack saw and a 12k winch that ended up on my trailer.

600 of my doll hairs stayed with him. Not a bad exchange. I struggle feeling like I took advantage of him, but I never tried to get him to come off a price. He said a price, I paid him.

Unfortunately, my on-board air compressor (airlift) decided to take some time off, my bags couldn't inflate, so it was a bumpy ride home.

Just fyi, the vfd’s you can get these days work well on mills. I have a 10hp one that runs my lathe and mill. Leas amperage and i can use the hz to soft start or play with additional speeds

According to the serial number this is a 1970 machine. LOL. Condition shows very little use. All way surfaces still have full flaking on the, no excessive wear areas or slop.

Started cleaning her up last night. Used all the PB Blaster and wd-40 I had to get it covered. Next will be red scotch bright pads and elbow grease.

Then repeat as needed.

Puppy training pads from the club store help control the mess. I like those things, LOL.
