After 2 years, time to crank it up

Ok, this my history
2 years ago i bought a duramax engine in the US and then shipped to my country (chile) now, I received my ECM with the stand alone harness for run it, but i don't know if it's ok to run the engine just like that (with new oil and filters obviously) i was told by a friend that i should remove the glow plugs and put some oil for lubrication ?
any input on this ?

I would do that as well as do the self oil prime before starting it. ill see if i can find the thread some where.

You're ok, as long as the engine is securely bolted down to something, and as long as it has fresh oil and a new filter in it. I would not run it for longer than a minute or so without coolant in it.
