6.0 PSD cold start

Its 8 C here this morning, a neighbor down the road just started his 6.0. First it hardly started and then when it did it sounded like it was gonna blow up. I know theres nothing actually wrong with the truck it just sounded awful and could barely stay running. I know they were bad for cold starts but seriously. 8C is pretty warm :confused: My truck starts the same as if it were the middle of summer.

PSD's are terrible in the cold due to the HEUI injection system. (I know saying "HEUI injection" is like saying "ATM machine" or "PIN number")

it relies on pressurizing the engine oil to fire the injectors. So when the engine oil is thick in the colder weather, its more difficult to accurately fire the injectors.

Thats one of the first things I noticed about the Duramax, it fires off so much better in cold weather. I have a Powerstroke as well and sometimes it is a bitch to crank. I never really liked the way you have to wait for it to build oil pressure before it fires.
