2008 duramax inst mpg

Truck is a 2008 Chevy Duramax 3500 LTZ. Any idea why I don’t have an instant mpg reading on my dash?

They removed it. Closest you get is an average MPG. Reset it and for a short time you have an instant until it builds up enough to start averaging it

I think it's dumb and I don't really know why it was removed

That’s where my ‘04 sat. I used it as more of an engine load than instant mpg.
