2002 LB7 How to disable Glow Plugs to use start fluid?

I have a Crank No Start for 7 months now and really need to get the truck back on the road again.
I want to try using starting fluid but the way I understand it, the Glow Plugs will ignite the fluid and bend the push rods.
I would like to unplug the glow plugs and disable them so that I can give this a try.
Thanks in advance

Look for the little black box on DS rear of engine by fuel lines. Thats the GPCM. IIRC, disconnect the power lead to that, glowplugs wont fire. It'll probably throw a CEL.

I forgot to mention it is a federal emissions truck. From what I have read the Federal does not have a GPCM, there is a black box, but I think it is a Glow Plug relay or something. Does unplugging that work as well or is there a fuse or something?

Take the main bar off the glow plugs and tape up the wire that connects to it on each side

Did any LB7 actually have a GPCM? Weren't they just some kind of 'dumb' relay setup, unlike LLY and later? But either way, find the main power feed for the glow plugs and disconnect it, or the glow plug fuse and remove or disconnect it and you should be good

Cali emission had a gpcm like the lly, federal had the big ass relay box that housed the glow plugs relay and intake heater relay

Use gasoline, not ether for starting fluid. Just a spoon full on the air filter does great. Will take a little cranking to get the air/fumes through the boost tubes and intercooler. Much more gentle then starting fluid. Haven't found a need to disconnect or mess with the glow plugs when using it

Others have used silicone spray and WD-40 with success but not me

Sorry I called it that....but cmon. You all knew what I was trying to say. Yes, they are just relays.

Do what James said. Disconnect and isolate the power leads to the bars on both sides.

OK, what wire or wires do I disconnect from the relay? I am guessing the red one is the power and would kill it or do I need to disconnect the wires at the front of the glow plug rails?

The big red one, but also doing the rails works the same. Make sure to insulate the ends of whichever you pick.

I use wd 40, if you have a helper or remote start switch. Works pretty good and harder to make it go boom.
