Who had issues with the PSC 6 bolt box?
I have heard the quality issues on the red and blue boxes, not yet on the PSC stuff.

You can put new seals in but if the output shaft has excessive lateral play due to wear, the seal will not overcome.I've put two Cardone boxes in my truck in the last few months and both have started leaking at the output shaft within a month or two of installation. Now I'm back on the hunt for a quality box, I'm willing to spend the money on a top-quality product but from what I've seen PSC, Red Head and Blue Top all have mixed reviews. Has anyone tried the Dmaxstore box, Part# DMAX-SG-0107? (see link below) It currently only has 4 reviews but all 4 are 5 stars. Priced at $589.56 for a new box. It's only a 4 bolt but they provide a QAQC test sheet for each box and it comes with a 3-year warranty as opposed to the 1-year from red and blue. I also still have my original box that I only replaced because the input shaft started leaking. I'm fairly certain it is the original box but it has almost 200K miles on it, I'm also contemplating just replacing the seals in that or sending it off for a rebuild if I can find a reputable shop to do the work. TIA

How is it holding up?I just ordered one of the 6 bolt Cardone boxes for my dad's LMM. Hopefully it doesn't start leaking on him.
Because these were designed Afterwards to fix the issues on these trucks. Gm put the minimum amount to sell the truck and get it out side of warranty using what was available so they didn't have to design from scratch.I just installed one of these 6 bolt boxes with a PSC pump. Done TTX ball joints and all steering components at the same time. It is unbelievable how it steers now. You can be at a full stop, full brakes, on dry pavement, and turn the wheels with one finger. It's literally as good as the new electric assist steering. If these gear boxes existed back in the day, I have no clue why GM wouldn't have used these considering all of the steering complaints they had.
