"OFFICIAL" What did you do to your D-Max today?

Like you, I chose to go with oem striker bolts since it lasted this long. Found a set on eBay for the price of one. The tailgate operates so much better now. I went with an aftermarket metal handle latch and it feels nice and solid. Not like to oem plastic one that flexes. Sent from my...

Dam. $30 for the striker bolts? 11570162. What the heck! It's the only thing I didn't order, but I see the plastic bushing is falling apart on one side. Sent from my SM-S928U using Tapatalk

"OFFICIAL" What did you do to your D-Max today?

I just ordered all new stuff myself. Truck is 19 years old with the OEM hardware. Its time to replace it. I always had a tough time opening it.

Popped the heater core connector today

At some point they made it molded and one piece. I don know what year it was when they started to do it. My 07 LBZ was like that. When I did headgaskets I replaced the metal tube and hose as one piece. You can cut off the aluminum clamp on the metal tube side that connects to the hose and...

    September '25 Chat - Tom's retirement

Back in the day I bought that too. The guys were not good at multiple locations and I ended up wasting more time going back for corrections. Im glad you have a good guy there. Its a good deal for sure. That sucks.

Finding a good alignment shop is tough. I avoid the big name shops. I try and find small shops that specialize in alignments.

    Snapped the shock mount!

U-bolts I usually torque to a spec. But Im running over sized U-bolts from Cognito. I put the full weight of the truck on the axels and torque them. I think I went to 100 ft.lbs. I rechecked them a few days later and again a couple months later. GTG

    Snapped the shock mount!

That reminds me. If you take your truck to Americas tire / Discount tire, they will use the lower shock mounts and jacking points to lift up the truck and change / rotate your tires. Keep an eye on those guy if you go there.

    LLY Defuel

From what I have been taught, you don't need to do a trans relearn when switching tunes. It is more for after you rebuild the transmission. Just drive "nice" for a while going through the gears at different throttle positions. Don't just change to a higher tune and hammer the throttle. Going...

HVAC blowing hot on one side and cold on the other with a twist

I have not had this issue yet, but have you tried disconnecting your batteries for 5 / 10 mins again and see what happens. Back in the day one of my drivers seat functions did not work and I went through all the connections to try and troubleshoot. everything seemed to be ok. So I disconnected...

    300k on transmission fluid

I forgot to add change the internal filter like James mentioned. Mike L it the one who built my trans and gave me the recommendations. Sent from my SM-S928U using Tapatalk

    300k on transmission fluid

I would at least do a fluid exchange. I would not flush it, just do a drain and fill twice. That's what I do every 35k miles. And don't forget about your transferase if you have one.

    EGR vent port leak.

Have you tried to remove the EGR motor and pressure test for boost leaks? EGR motor may be bad and not resetting, pushing the valve open slightly.

    Camber issues

Back in the day, I had Cognito UCA's and lowered my truck lower than stock. IIRC I had issues with caster or camber too. Well something like that. There was a guy that swapped the UCA's from side to side and flipped them upside down to get them in spec...
