July '26 Chat -- Food, Family, Fireworks and Fun!

My kiddo just had her friends over for her 17th Birthday (it's actually tomorrow), so tomorrow is the big milestone and then it's 10am on Monday at the DMV for her driving test!!!

    Logged boost vs mechanical boost.

Ok. What about location. If you have a boost leak, and the sensors are far apart, could we get this discrepancy under load? Boost leak test next?

log idle. MAP and BARO should read the same. It's a start.

    Logged boost vs mechanical boost.

Why is MAP and BOOST the same in your log? MAP should be absolute (PSIA), but it is tracking with your BOOST. According to your BARO, MAP should be reading 13.5 points higher. Calling for 38.7psia in the tune, and reading 33.6 on the MAP... boost should be reading more like 20psig. Something...

    Logged boost vs mechanical boost.

Mechanical - duh. I'm too used to electrical sensors on dial style :) Did you check to see if the hose was pinched? Good wiring? etc?

The New 17" PYOs from WCfab

arguably not as handsome, but the LMM had a factory 17” wheel. I think a hair narrower and similar weight to the WCFab wheel.

    2002 FE9

Yes. The box looks a little different, but I bought it in September, LOL. It's the same product and description though! I did learn something on a youtube video after I used it though - It doesn't work this well on all plastics. This surface is where it works best; lucky me! Also, don't...

    2002 FE9

I put a little lipstick on the front end. Cerakote wipes worked great on the top bumper cover, and an aftermarket lower valance to get rid of whatever the hell the PO did! I’m guessing he tried to torch it? lol.

I have yet to see where the weight is available. Part of the PYO charm is light weight :)

Amazon refunded me the cost of the TTX and I ordered two Kryps through my buddy's shop. On to something more fun: Tonight I got into it a little bit with a Porsche Cayenne S and gave the new Bullseye compressor wheel in the S475 a little on the job testing, lol. I looked at my tell tales...

**CHALLENGE** - TURBO LAG TEST using a log

I didn't re-log with the new wheel in the S475, but the IHI WG should be the same as before, I'm just cracking open at the very peak RPM. I could probably just disconnect the reference tube and mechanically shut it for keeps. IIRC, I was making like 18psi from the IHI and around 20psi from the...

**CHALLENGE** - TURBO LAG TEST using a log

My “stock” turbo is a house branded XDP stock replacement, but it has 1 less blade on the compressor vs OEM. It is ported and polished. I went back through all pages of this thread for like the 100th time, lol. I think that with the super short windows that we are considering, the operator...

**CHALLENGE** - TURBO LAG TEST using a log

I'll give it a chance until temps drop and I can re-eval. Since it's a compound setup, the shaft speed tops out pretty low though, so I'm not sure if its a keeper. Never trust the butt dyno though, I was surprised by the results.

**CHALLENGE** - TURBO LAG TEST using a log

I'm going through the data and in every comparison that I am able to make with the data from last year, the cast wheel outperforms. I'm going to try again when it's 45* out, and then see what the numbers look like. It'll be a few months, lol.

**CHALLENGE** - TURBO LAG TEST using a log

5th gear test. Again, as close as I can get. Left side is today with Bullseye wheel in the S475, and the right was last year. Stock cast wheel is faster, but I can't say if it's a temp thing. I also may have loaded better last year with more throttle position. For my own S&G I might look...
