Yeah, GM 3.6. I know all about the timing chain failures on the first-gen 3.6s, and the rep the first-gen Ecoboosts had. Just wondering if those issues had been minimized by 2016. Thanks for the insight, guys.

Boy, if I could just find an LBZ that wasnt a rusty pile of junk with 400,000 miles on it......
Plenty here in California if you're willing to come out this far

Add in roughly $1000 for plane ticket, uber/taxi to wherever the truck is.

My time is not an issue. Driving back isnt a problem.

But there IS the problem with the truck being misrepresented, dishonest seller, etc.....which is becoming more and more commonplace.

Placerville isn't that far from me. If you are interested, I can likely go take a look at it and do a pre inspection for you. I don't have Facebook so you'd have to contact the guy for me.

They are out there, I bought a rust free one with 190k on it at auction that needed a door and bedside repaired thinking I wanted an lbz again. Had 6 or 7 of them over the years, and while they were great, it was time to move on. I just could not stand or get used to that interior again, just felt cheap and clapped out. Couldn't get rid of it fast enough. Have a pair of tastefully modded 17-19 L5P's now and no regrets. Go newer, they're gonna be the next LBZ.

Im never going to touch another EPA-era diesel truck again. Ever.

Give me an old GMT-800 body and LB7/LLY/LBZ and I'd be happy. I know that generation inside and out.

Tom, all my friends, SIL and his friends said not to get rid of my LBZ too. I'm enjoying this truck greatly. It's got 40K on it and no problems except the fake Allison. It tows great, rides way better and has I think the best looks.

Tom, if there is one in phx and the seller is willing to bring it to our shop, ill do a full inspection on it for free for you. You will get a digital inspection with pics and videos of everything we see bad or about to be bad. Tie rods, idler/pitman arm, ball joints, control arm bushings, water pump, heater connections, rad, fluids, a/c&heat, top to bottom on the sum bitch. Nate is as particular about these trucks as i am (my main diesel guy). Leroy’s Auto & Truck Care

Food for thought. Lots of shops offer this these days and ive done quite a few inspections for out of staters buying trucks here

Not sure if any of you follow this, but Union Pacific is sending their "Big Boy" locomotive on a tour east to end up in Philly for the 250th.

I'm planning to drive down to Ohio to see it on June 7th. It's a once-ever opportunity.

Tom, I am down in the southern area of CA. So if you see something out this way you might be interested in, let me know. I would be happy to help as well. They are mostly over priced, How ever there is the occasional deal that pops up here and there.

Thanks guys. Ive been looking the past couple days. Lots of Chevys, not so many GMCs. Lots of rust, huge exhaust tips, lifts, huge tires, or tasteless body mods. Good god, this second gen of Dmax owners are awful.

or I can pay $30000+.....
