I just have to get this out. 🤬

I can not believe what our society has become... It's sad that this is about the only way to sell things any more.

The Pay to sell places are not any better. Offer up has turned into Offer Half or even less. They don't even try, they just send a dollar amount and a question mark. In some cases, I have responded and asked them to come today and pick it up just to see what they do. Radio Silence every time...

On guy got belligerent with me on some wheels and told me what it's worth and that know one would pay my price. So I said No problem I will just scrap them. He got even more upset!!! I just unlisted it and blocked him. At this point I will just destroy the stuff and throw things out. No need to deal with the wanna bee's and I could haves' in the world. The money is already spent, If I can't recoup a fair amount, No need to deal with idiots that just want to take advantage or think they can make a profit.

Sorry, Rant over!!!

I have to agree. I’ve thrown stuff away because the effort of selling it is often exhausting…I sold a street bike a year or two ago and I scheduled meet up’s twice and no shows. Then one guy showed up and only brought half the cash (which I silently applaud the tactic, but at least bring the other half). He left all annoyed, but not nearly as annoyed as I was.

I have had good experiences though, albeit it’s been a few years.

You guys are having a field day with this, arent you?

That old adage, "The bad apple spoils the bushel" applies to almost everything now. Everyone is trying to find their next "side hustle" and a handshake doesnt mean anything anymore. My brother calls me "an honest man" and "a good person" like its a bad thing. Maybe it is, but Im not going to let the multitude of criminals out there bring me down to their level.

But what did we ever have that was any better? Garage sales are a nightmare. You better not even be selling something for more than a dollar. Newspaper classifieds were horrible. Crazy abbreviations, barely any information, and very unlikely to have any pictures.

The sellers are what really drive the prices. Some people think their shit is gold and other people's just want it out of the way and this is the step right before throwing it away. I don't mind the people but I'm seriously questioning whether most of the responses are Bots to keep us listing stuff and ingauged in FB. Not to mention seems to be a lot of people that just want my address for data farming or whatever. I've had some stuff that I never thought would sell sell on Market place. Including a half used bag of fertilizer.... 😆 Crazy I did have to throw away a caulking gun though I kind of thought that would have sold. Then again I'm a hoarder and don't throw anything away. With my job I kind of just have to buy stuff that I already have 10 of because I need it today.

I put the axles on mp from the semi cut-off I bought. The only thing that sold was the 3 aluminum rims that weren’t even listed haha.
And then one guy wanted to come see the air sliding 5th wheel plate. Gave my address and got ghosted. 3 days later he’s asking if I had engine parts from a completely different truck than what the rear cut-off was from.

Everyone is looking for a deal. I mean, I dont blame them, I would, too....

But when the listing has my city on it already, and you're from Detroit....its not my responsibility to "bring the parts to you" -- as I was asked not once, but twice, on the wheels. Then there are the idiots that dont even read the ad, and ask questions that are listed on the ad. I got annoyed with one guy who did that about everything listed. Ticked me right off.

As a society in general it's only getting worse... Not that we had better places to sale stuff just that people in general were better on the buying end. Sure there was always the occasional idiot, but now it seems like it's more idiots and your hoping for that 1 decent person...

Example: I sold a used LLY K&N CAI kit and got $150 within 1 week. There were 3 listed in the general area and 1 within 5 miles from me.

I have a brand New Airaid CAI kit still in the box for a Gas GMT800 truck and the best I get is and I Quote "$100 ???" I figured the retail is $400 so I listed it for $250 I have had a couple guys offer $150 So just to see if there serious I ask if they are able to pick it up Today? Radio Silence all 3 times.

In the past when they send 100 offers, I have asked them which part of the kit they were interested in, just the tube or the filter with the CARB sticker.

I have had people That just wanted to my adress to come pick up an item and then ghost me. I believe those accounts are either bots or data brokers. I always report everyone and block them any way. It's cut down on the idiots when I list new stuff.

Update. No CELs. No new calls on the truck, but a few people have stopped by the house and looked at it. $6+/gal isnt helping me sell it, thats for sure.

Ive noticed that the truck does not regen as often as it did before. Avg mileage is up to 25 now, too. Power/acceleration seems better, too...but thats probably an illusion.

Well, that reprieve was short lived. Three whole months! Must be a record of some kind!

Sarcasm aside: Truck decided to go into DEF derate again on the freeway. P20EE and P22A1 popped up. Directs to NoX sensor 2, downstream. Yay.

On a bright note, mileage was averaging 31mpg at 72mph before the POS started throwing codes.
Ya know, I think Im going to name it that. "POS". Describes it perfectly.
