Actually, the psi pid on my scantool is wrong or not working. The mpa pid shows it commanding 50 mpa during cranking. So it just classic rail pressure issues.

If you can fit a larger one, it's worth the effort. Measure the diameter of the intake pipe and filter the results on the filter company websites. See what's available and measure for clearance to decide.

I have to get universal fit filters all the time for a used truck dealer I do work for. Just measure the one you are trying to replace and go to filter manufacturers' websites and match one up.

A 6.7 has a factory equipped electric lift pump. That's where these metal flakes were located, in the bottom of the housing.

If your fuel filter housing had this in it when changing filter, but regulator looks clean as a whistle...... This is a 2014 6.7 powerstroke BTW

Ive seen one weak in tank pump myself now. An occasional glow plug, a few turbo actuators, exhaust manifold studs broke, and of course the injector connectors

Your heads will be fine. Ive taken double digits(.010 +) off without issue before. There is a spec for valve recession and piston protrusion. Measure those and decide on gasket thickness

We are doing a choate reman, the one with head studs. I might call them about possible spring & pushrods. This trucks just going to get an injector & turbo(drop in) kit from full force. And an intercooler.
