I'd say either would be fine but my vote goes to the LLY.
To get past 500hp your going to be looking at a turbo change so we can rule out the difference in turbo's between the two motors. I prefer the injectors on the LLY because they dont have issues like the LB7's are known for. The rest of...
Well PPE does sell the "race valve" which is essentially just a block off for the FPRV to prevent any sort of fuel pressure relief at all.
I shimmed mine up so hard that it wasnt capable of lifting anymore and I never had any problems. not saying its the right way, but it worked just fine with...
This is a stupid comment... but what about your u-joints? Sometimes its tough to know when they are starting to go bad. But the truck will feel like it shifts terribly, converter lock up feels rough and going from R-D or in and out of park always clunks.
You'll know pretty quickly if you keep...
Use a toothbrush. I used a few and they worked fine for the exact same stuff - intake runners etc.
I recall using brake cleaner on the intake stuff. My heads were cleaned at the machine shop. I would ask the shop you take them to what they do for aluminum heads just to make sure they dont hot...
Edson!!!! That sucks man. I could think of about 300 towns I'd rather get stranded in than Edson. Lets start with high prairie... grand cache maybe... balzac? La Loche saskatchewan... Haha, maybe not.
Me and Edson don't have a good history.
Already sent a PM or email or something like that. I'll give him atleast 2 days to get back haha.
I noticed that not many vendors are quoting anything for "LMM turbo kits". Like I had asked initially, is there something different about changing the turbo on the LMM's than the other models?
I...
Is anyone making a twin kit for the LMM other than MPI? Their product seems to have positive feedback, but do I have any other options?
The HTT was a good turbo, I guess there is no reason why I wouldnt put another one on.
Ya. The obvious choice is the twins. I'm just cheap and looking to see if I can get something in between.
To be honest I'm considering buying a 2008 Z06 vette instead of spending money on the truck. I'm just trying to get it all figured out and compare the cost-to-usefulness/enjoyment ratio's.
Is there anything tricky about changing the turbo on an LMM?
I switched to an HTT 66 on my LLY and was really happy with it. I'm thinking about doing the same on my LMM but to be honest I havent even looked under the hood of it to see what is different.
Any experienced opinions on a larger...
Sounds like its in limp mode for fuel related issues. Are the limp mode tables altered from stock? Do you have the limp modes disabled by other means? If you dont, are the codes set to not report and thats why nothing comes up?
Mines does this too. First time happened when I was unloading my sled off the deck... it was frozen to the deck and the truck was moving back and forth quite a bit as I was trying to get it off. I heard it beeping and I got in the cab and saw the message. Next few times were just driving around...
If you do it yourself it can be done fairly cheaply in about 20 hours... For me gaskets were about 150-200 a piece and the head studs were 600. Copper washers and O-rings for the injectors totaled about 100 bucks. Head alignment dowels were like 5 dollars. I took the heads to get checked/milled...
That looks good. I like the BMF wheels. Has anyone seen the "rehab" model? I got a set on order. The new satin finish "stealth" models of thier wheels look good too. I debated a set of the stealth novakanes for my 08. The truck is black so I'm going for the blacked out look.
Hmm. Guess I'll have to resort to a pillar pod. I just hate when the gauges are blasting you in the face. Especially at night. I'll have to put the lights on a switch
