I'm pulling the motor so all i need is the pin placement and i'll change it.

Well the motor is out good thing I got new motor mounts. My left mount was broken. I also got my AF cam and valve springs from empire today. I will be taking my rotating assembly to my machinist to be balanced and the to get the crank keyed. He will also check the valves clean up the heads and install the new springs. I found about three things really bad off. I found the clamp on the downpipe real loose I know it was leaking. I found a major boost leak in the passenger up pipe. The turbo had probably .080 of movement and felt like it was toast. Can't wait to get this motor back together and going. I'd imagine it will be a lot better than it was at 510hp. Where is the best place to get a new cp3 pump from. Mine has 160k on it I think I'm going to change it while it's easy.
Anyone have the pin placement to change for af cams??? I would appreciate it.
Not to step on any vendor's toes but I keep the 6480AF and 9100AF on the shelf if Guy doesn't have them to sell to you direct and no other vendor has them.
Pretty sure you can have fleece or Kory just change the firing order in the tune no wiring needed. Being as you have a lbz

Damn wish I knew this before ordering my cam through Wagler, since SoCal was out of stock I just got a grind similar to his 9100AF.
I hear these 9100, 6440 and 3888 or whatever mentioned all the time. Does anyone have specs on them?

I wish now I would have went with the 6480AF. I was tired of spending money and don't want to mess with valve reliefs at the time. Oh well,maybe next time :roflmao:
I just got the stage 1 AF cam and the beehive springs from empire. I'll let you know how is daily drives and tows. I did do some minor port work on my heads though. I'd imagine the intake side is pretty good. I just cleaned it up and smoothed out the casting marks. The exhaust side I did a lot more work. I gasket matched them and opened up around the seats slightly. I will work the valves and seats tomorrow. I'm hoping to make about 750 to the wheels and drive it everywhere. :thumb: I'll post some pictures tomorrow.
I have run 6460 and 6480 cams a lot and have never once thought "man this is about the biggest cam I could get away with driving or towing". Back when I bought my first 6460 Guy and others were all telling me to go 3388 cause the 6460 was too big, then I did everything with the truck people told me that cam wouldn't do well at and if anything it did better than the guys that went the "safe" route of the smaller cam. My next motor will be going from my old 6460 to a 9100AF and I don't foresee it causing any considerable drivability difference or issues.
Dustin I personally believe the 9100 will do anything that needs to be done but that is all relative to the supporting mods and right tuning . Towing efficiently requires matching parts made for the application. The 9100 is not intended for that. Most all of us in the want our cake and ice cream and get to enjoy it as well so we try combinations that don't work the best together.
I understand this was sarcastic but its sad that we're just buying these up and don't have a clue on the specs. Paying wicked high prices for something based on the company's marketing. I'm aware of the real world results, don't get me wrong.
You won't be disappointed! We'll have Jeremy's AF cams in 5 builds we're doing now. :thumb:

Beyond an alternate firing order cam apparently being the way to go to save crank failures. I'm wondering if anyone has any real life experiences with just a cam swap or just going from stock heads to ported heads with no other changes. Has anyone swapped just a cam in? Or just ported heads? Curious what your experience was over the original stock cam or stock heads? Faster spool? Better EGT's? HP Gain? Obviously results will vary with different cam designs but I'd like to hear opinions from those that have done it.
