2009 Lmm in a 3500 HD with Allison.
In town the other day and stopped at a stop light. Heard a light grinding noise and the truck lunged a bit. When I tried to take off it felt as if it was in low range and crawl speed. Pulled into a parking lot to figure it out. Shift inhibit light kept coming on. Shut the truck of and restarted many times. No change. No trouble lights came on. Unhooked batteries for a bit and reconnected. No change. Called a buddy who brought a trailer and a code reader. No codes present.(reader did support trans and chassis).
Hauled it home and begin troubleshooting. Cannot find and thing wrong at this point. Checked harness and plugs. fluid levels. Did replace the transfer case switch for GP.
This morning when I started it the same thing and no change. Tried to roll it back and forth but then it went into basically neutral mode and now will not move at all. Trans linkage is shifting. Transfer case is shifting(manual shift case).
I have scoured the internet for answers but to many different answers from TCM, front axle solenoid, out put speed sensor,etc.
Any help would be appreciated before I just start throwing money for different parts at it.
