Need some help with a headlight selection. I’ve looked at Anzo and alpharex and I’m not really sold on the look.

I’m aware of the stock appearing options out there and have a Chinese set but the light pattern is not very good. Are there any out there that are close to the oem light pattern that last more than a couple years before they turn yellow?

I got my OE style replacement set from 1A Auto, DIY branded. Needed a serious adjustment but after that the light pattern seems the same as before

I used a few sets of the Spec D brand. They seem well made for the price

TX of course
TYC or Depo
I bought some Denali style headlights from one of these two brands. I think it was TYC they’ve been on my truck for at least 10 years and look like new still. However, I’ve probably only put 30 or 40,000 miles on my truck in those 10 years and it’s in the garage if it isn’t being driven.

Ironically, I replaced the tail lights on my 05 LLY with GM replacements around 2016 and GM had switched to DEPO. At the time i though someone swapped them and returned the box. they ordered a new set and I was the first person to open them confirming they had switched. A few years later, they started to Delaminate like the Original's Do. So instead of paying GM Price's, I purchased actual DEPO Brand Taillight's' and they are different than the version I received through the GM dealer. Knock on wood, no issues with this set and they were a fraction of the cost of GM Branded one's.

My 06 GMC has no name branded Silverado tail light assemblies. There is a definite difference in fitment between them and the DEPO brand on my LLY. I would buy the DEPO branded ones over these no name house brand lights. The only reason was, I needed harnesses for them to work on the GMC and they were less than $100 Complete with harnesses. I think each harness was around $40 at the time from GM plus the cost of the DEPO light's and bulbs would have been close to $200.

My work Van has TYC branded replacements tail lamps in the back. The only issue is, I had to slot the holes on the light so that it would sit properly in the opening. Otherwise they would pull inward and hit the tailgate.

I ordered some Nilight brand headlights and markers. Will see how the light pattern is and if they are ok I’ll keep them. If not, try again with another brand.

Had to send the driver side fender back. Body guy didn’t like the gap. Hopefully new one fits better. Passenger was mint.

Grill is painted. Not sure how I feel about it yet. Will see how it looks once I get the blue bow tie in it and the hood and fenders on. That bumper won’t be on it much longer either. Installing a Graves fabrication one.

Just buy the headlights that best suit your tastes and have good quality and clear coat them. That way they won’t turn yellow and stay nice and shiny.

Grill looks good.

Frame mostly painted, box on painted and box lined, tailgate painted and on, flares are painted and may be on now. Just waiting for the emblem so I can get it painted too. 4 coats of paint, 4 coats of clear. Sumbitch is shiney AF.

Need to dig the summer wheels out and get them polished up and ready to put on. And get the kickbacks back on. Got a couple interior things to tune up yet. Should be ready to roll end of the month.

Very nice work! Congrats! Can I ask what total cost was for the body repair and paint on the truck?

I haven’t got the final bill yet but when I do I’ll share it. Keep in mind it’s a buddy in a small shop just starting out on his own. And the amount is in Canadian Rubles!!

Were the handles disassembled and painted?
Handles, mirrors, window visors were all blown apart and done in smooth body liner. No paint. Alberta Boys has a product line of body liner of various levels of shine and texture and can do ANY color!! Including pearls. They have ultra smooth to full textured rock guard. Deadly stuff. And not cheap. Just product sprayed on a prepped truck in one color of smooth body liner is over 20k. The ones they take to SEMA would probably cost 60-80.

They have shops across NA and a few down under that are trained and licensed to spray their stuff. If you find one and want something tougher than paint but still shiney like paint, I recommend it.
