Even if the battery technology evolves enough we are decades away from having anything close to a power grid that will work for EVs on a mass scale. Dean
One possible solution, ignoring the environmental impact of mining the raw materials, is having solar on peoples own roof that charges a powerwall for either carrying through the peak period or using it for EV charging. Many already have this so it is a viable option. Even if very expensive

A long term solution is nuclear.

Yup. Been saying that for some time. If tomorrow, everyone in the country traded their ICE vehicles in for EVs then went home and plugged them in, the grid would implode.
Yeap! The power lines would certainly be a glow! Bet it would look pretty in the evening skies! :D
