Piston rings not seating

Good to hear.

FYI, I've tried gaplass rings twice and both times, they didn't work. One in my Turbo Caravan, has massive blowby issues and tried them in my wife's ALH tdi. Burn's oil. Bores done to their specs.

post back in 100k miles and let us know what the compression is

We opened this truck up the other day after about 10k miles over 11 months. This cylinder read higher on a compression test than any of the others, though it does seem like it's burning a little oil.

Was referring to the Hone Specs. I was having mine machined around that time

Ah. Well, I spose it doesn't help now but I'll say it anyway. They still ran the 220 grit to get the deep RvK, but finished up with a 600-ish grit to smooth the surface and lower the plateau a tiny bit.
