I noticed when changing my nerf bars that my body mounts look pretty beat. The bolts are a little shot too. When we pulled the cab and bed off my buddy’s truck, his were worse. Looking for both of us, I see that S&B now has silicone mounts with new bolts... any thoughts compared to OEM etc?

ive "heard" they are inbetween a poly mount and factory rubber mount as far as how quite they are and transfer of noise/road vibs. theres no way anyone could pay me to run poly body mounts again in a truck thats daily driven

IMO just buy new OEM. The truck is 12yr+ in age. The better ride quality is worth potential replacement while you own the truck. The silicone will arguably last longer. I only have experience with them in a customer's F250 and I wouldn't spend my money on them over OEM rubber.

I installed a set on a 2013 F250 for a customer a couple of months ago, and I would definitely choose them over the OEM mounts from Ford. I can't say anything about their GM kit since they haven't been available as far as I know.

I checked on their site several times in the past couple months and they say GM is coming. Dmax stores claims to already sell them in stock... kinda doubt that though. Odd.

Thanks for all of the info so far!

Does Dorman use the rear hydraulic mounts like GM put into mine to stop frame beaming?

it was a TSB that came out around '09 IIRC, but I don't know if they became standard at any time or if it always remained a TSB for complaints of frame beaming.

i dont think it matters really but thats just my opinion so take it for what its worth. My 2020 still does it at certain speeds on the highway, granted not as bad as the 02 but still very noticeable. its the shit ass expansion joints on the highways, not the trucks.
