Well, what else do you call the car when a 55 y/o guy goes out and buys a Corvette?!? :roflmao:

2000 C5 Vette

81,191 miles
Light pewter outside, black inside
Completely stock.
Fully loaded car (for 2000) except for the 3.15 rear end gears. (Darn it!)

In pretty good condition, but previous owner didnt care for it like he really should've. It still drives out pretty good.
It needs all the normal C5 "fixes" that Ive read about. Those are all DIY, so no big deal to me. Give me a few weeks, it'll be back to A1 condition.

Ive wanted one of these since they came out in '97, but we were starting our family so no bueno. Kids are moving out, house is paid for, so I decided, "What the heck." Roni wasnt happy about it initially, and then she drove it. Then it was, "OK".

....and yes, this means I'm calling it quits once and for all with the Duramax-in-the-half-ton project. In the next couple weeks I should have a for sale thread up for all the parts Ive bought over the years.

Congrats Tom! It nice to have something you can just drive and enjoy. Not spend all your time working on it.

Cool car, Tom. I love my mid-life-crisis car. I guess yours has the 2.73 gears?

That should be FUN!

Other than getting it in A1 condition, are you planning to ever do any performance mods to it?!?! :woott:

Yeah, its got the 2.73s. I keep reading that for the cost of installing the 3.15s, a person should just jump to 3.42s with a better converter.
