Actual reason for lb7 injector failure

I know it's been asked before but does anyone have any actual hard evidence as to why the injectors fail so frequently?

Has anyone ever tried sending the internals to an injector off to be coated with some sort of hard coating like tin coating, diamond coating to try and prolong the life of these things?

I got brand new updated Bosch injectors, hp lines and put a lbz cp3 in it all at the same time, all parts except cp3 were from injectors direct 30k miles ago and I have 3 that are crapping out.

I have a air dog 100 with new filters every 6 months, and a cat filter adapter on the engine itself. I RELIGIOUSLY run diesel kleen with 2 stroke oil mixed and try to run 50 cetane diesel from Southern states as much as possible. Now in my mind I should not have to worry about these things crapping out already but they are.

Any hard evidence or reason why this happens?

Yea gotta buy quality remans from a reputable source then we can talk about why they fail. Yours failed because of where you bought them from.

There are simply different levels of rebuild quality. As for why they fail, there are a lot of reasons, none of which has ever been concretely proven.

So you think I got boned from injectors direct?

They were supposed to be brand new updated Bosch injectors not reman or refurbished.

Who is a reputable reman distributor? Exenrgy?

I did not cheap out when I had these things changed or at least I didn't think I was cheaping out.

I would still like to hear about coating the internals for longevity

Unfortunately there is no such thing as brand new Bosch injectors if they claim OEM. Those have all been gone for a long time. Bosch reman is all you will find nowadays.

The tooling to to reman Bosch injectors is ridiculously expensive so either companies buy from a place that does them or they lie and say they are Bosch reman when they aren't.

Just swap over to lly top end and be done with it, lb7 injectors dont just have 1 single common failure. They have several, that's the problem, lly injectors last much longer and are very easy to swap out...

I just converted my LB7 to an LBZ, wrecked donor truck was 4K, I sold the bones of it for $1,900.00. Just sold my LB7 and 5 speed Allison for $1,700.00.

Do the math, cheaper than injectors. (If you do the labor yourself)

LLY has a pretty decent failure rate too. As said earlier, injectors are a wear item. But they are much easier to swap on an LLY.

What all needed to be swapped? Engine trans, wiringing harness and steering coloum?

If you do a set of Bosch remans and use Motorsports nozzles they will get a much better result on durability. Nozzle design is the main culprit for failure.
